When you are not achieving depression relief from your medication, you may benefit from transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy. TMS therapy is highly safe and effective, requires minimal downtime and recovery time, and offers results as early as after the first treatment session. NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy is offered in a seven-week treatment course at Premier Treatment Centers of Los Angeles.

Depression, like most other mental health conditions, manifests in the brain. Patients with depression—along with other mental health issues—have lower activity in certain regions of the brain compared to those without. Typically, these brain regions regulate important processes like your mood, emotions, and behavior. Therefore, neural imbalances or loss of function in these particular brain regions can directly result in symptoms of lowered mental health, such as:
TMS is a popular treatment option because it is entirely non-surgical and non-medication in nature. It is a very minimally invasive procedure with minimal, easy-to-manage side effects. The treatment aims to physically improve the functioning of the affected regions of the brain by safely stimulating them with the precise application of magnetic pulses—similar to an MRI—in a safe and controlled manner.
By stimulating the areas of the brain associated with depression, behavior, emotion, and mood, TMS therapy not only improves the brain’s activity but can also train the brain to independently improve its activity over time. With TMS therapy in Beverly Hills, Glendale, and Long Beach, our patients can achieve long-lasting relief from their depression symptoms without the need for medication or surgery.
