Stories of satisfaction from our valued patients!

I wholeheartedly recommend TMS to fellow patients with treatment-resistant depression. I’ve been in Dr John Deirmenjian’s care for 9+ years, and until last year had been able to manage my depression with medication. However, after a major disruption in my life, I felt defeated, lethargic, and hopeless despite our best efforts over a year’s time. That’s when we decided to try TMS therapy.
By my third session, I felt energized in a way I hadn’t in a long time. I was daisy-chaining errands because I had the stamina and focus to get them done! I was also sleeping better at night, falling asleep in 20 minutes instead of 5 minutes (per my Oura Ring metrics). After this point, I can’t describe further differences other than maintenance of this newfound stamina—which was most welcome!

As a patient and Ivy League graduate, I can empathize with how scary it can be to think about tampering with your brain. “Brain zaps?!” But the TMS results speak for themselves and the minimal discomfort during treatment is manageable. And a TMS technician is there at all times to ensure you are comfortable.

Lucia was my technician for TMS, and I am so grateful for her reassuring bedside manner and calm, grounded demeanor. My TMS protocol was 36 sessions, ~20min each, five times a week. Time flew by! I credit that effortlessness to her comforting presence and efficiency at her job.

It’s been a week since my last TMS therapy session, and I feel great. Thank you Dr. Deirmenjian for advocating for my best care and giving me hope when I needed it most. I look forward to facing the challenges ahead—and that’s what I needed to feel.

I just completed my 36 sessions of TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) in Beverly Hills to help with my mild-moderate depression and I am SO grateful to Dr. Deirmenjian and his assistant, Lucia!

I found Dr. Deirmenjian a few months ago (thru Neurostar. I wanted to find a Dr.’s office that has done TMS for a while and takes my insurance), as I have been seeking to navigate some complicated life circumstances, and wanted to improve how I feel once and for all. I have struggled with chronic pain and immense situational depression for years.  Since the first day I spoke with him, I immediately felt at ease with his kindness, professionalism, intelligence and incredibly calm voice and demeanor.

I feel a SIGNIFICANT improvement, as I have completed 36 seventeen-minute sessions of TMS.
I am starting to feel better than I have felt mentally in years, and truly feel that the sky is the limit for me (like I did years ago). I am so blessed to have Dr. Deirmenjian to keep up with, as needed, in order to create calm, health and freedom within my own nervous system again. I truly appreciated when he would check in on me and make himself available whenever I needed to talk. His kindness and empathy, along with his MANY diplomas/accolades, will always be appreciated and remembered by me.

I would also like to focus attention on his wonderful assistant, Lucia, who was there for me and setup every session! My part-time work schedule posed some challenges, but she so kindly accommodated my schedule, so we could complete the 6 weeks without interruption and so I wouldn’t have to take off work (I love what I do and couldn’t financially afford to take off work).
I truly valued her super-sweet personality and kindness every time I would see her.
She is applying for medical school and would be an incredible asset to the medical field!

Thank you again to Dr. Deirmenjian and Lucia, for their incredible efforts to bring me back to *feeling* and *loving* my life again.  I am getting teary eyed as a write this and will be forever thankful to have found them.

I feel relieved and elated to have Dr. Deirmenjian and his TMS center in Beverly Hills and the in my corner!
Thank you deeply!

I’ve always been a resilient person who could manage to get past hard times with the help of friends, family, and hobbies. It wasn’t until recently that I struggled to get back on the horse from a traumatic event, and anti-anxiety and anti-depression medications were having very little positive effect on me. After giving the medicines a try, my psychiatrist, Dr. John Deirmenjian, recommended TMS therapy as an alternative treatment. I had already been curious about TMS but knew very little. I would look at the brochure that showed the MRI scans of what your brain looks like when it’s depressed compared to when it is functioning properly, and it resonated with me, as even the most mundane tasks proved to be challenging for me, and I could not focus as well as I used to prior to my depression.

With nothing to lose, I decided to try TMS therapy in Glendale.  After my first session with Dr. Deirmenjian and his nurse Amy, I felt an immediate energetic shift. I felt a motivation that I have not felt in a very long time.  Even my family members and close friends noticed a change in my voice after one session. I was told that most people would need a few weeks before they would see a difference, but I was lucky enough to experience a difference right away. As each session went by, week after week, I started to feel like my old self again—the person that looked forward to seeing her friends and making them laugh with silly jokes. I began to feel hopeful again. I was so listless and hopeless prior to TMS, so to have my drive back has been essential to me getting better. It feels as though my brain has been recalibrated. TMS, accompanied with regular therapy sessions, has changed my life for the better. I am so thankful that I was one of the fortunate ones that was able to undergo TMS therapy with Dr. Deirmenjian. I know if I did not do TMS therapy, I would still be sitting at home depressed and hopeless. Thankfully, I am moving forward in a positive direction!

I came across TMS therapy after searching the Internet for psychiatric alternatives to medication. I reached a point where taking pills was not working for me. If the medication had a good effect on my symptoms, it would often have terribly annoying side effects. I called the Premier TMS center and made an appointment for consultation. I had doubts whether my insurance would cover the service, but I was pleasantly surprised when the Center called and said that my insurance would cover it. Everything was easily set up and I started my TMS therapy. Dr. Deirmenjian and the office manager and tech, Cory, were extremely helpful in explaining the procedure and in answering my questions.

My first session with TMS was noticeable. I remember walking out of the building smiling. Every day after leaving the session was the same; there was a good feeling. The noticeable difference seemed to just appear in new patterns of behavior. I started calling friends and asking them if they would like to go have lunch or dinner. That was not typical of me. I had become very isolated in my depression.I feel that I have the normal level and threshold of emotions that most people have. It is the most “normal” I have felt in a long, long time.

I wish I would have found TMS sooner, but I’ll take what I have; that finally, the cycle of anxiety, insomnia, and depression have been stopped.

Over the years I have been through many different doctors and many different antidepressants with no relief of my symptoms. I would lay in bed for days with the curtains drawn and not want to participate in any activities. My family was affected, my job was affected. I was passed over for multiple promotions. I was unable to focus on simple tasks and was difficult to get along with at home and at work.
My depression held me captive for decades. I suffered with many ups and downs. Mostly downs, lasting three weeks to six months at a time. My family feared of my potential suicide. I was in a deep, dark place. I hate to say it, but I shed no tears when my father passed or even my sister’s passing.

I was referred to Dr. Deirmenjian. Dr. D always listened to my needs, and got me on the correct medications and dosages. After a period of time, he recommended TMS. I met with his nurse Colleen. She went over the treatment plan and assured me she would be doing all treatments. She made me very comfortable, and the time went by so fast. I actually started looking forward to my daily treatments.
After treatment #25 I felt like layers were being lifted from my depression. The light reappeared behind my eyes. My loved ones noticed my excitement with life. Now, I look forward to getting out of bed. I am focused, I have more energy. I feel like I am living again. It’s been three months now, and I am feeling great. I wholeheartedly recommend TMS to others who are not responding to other forms of treatment for depression and want to get their life back.

I’ve suffered on and off depression for years. While medication used to help in the past, there were always side effects which were bothersome as I got older. Recently all I got were side effects and no relief from the depression. We tried MAOI’s, combinations, SSRI’s, and NSRI’s, waiting patiently always trying to be hopeful. During this time I remained in therapy but with each failed response (which included exercise, herbs, and acupuncture) I became desperate. As my options decreased I began to have panic attacks. I called my insurance company’s helpline and they referred me to Dr. Deirmenjian. I could feel his compassion and desire to help. When he said I was a good candidate for TMS I felt a ray of hope. Dr. Deirmenjian and Cory were swift in advocating for me and my insurance company paid for the treatments. They made me feel like they cared at a time when I had run out of energy to care about myself. i trusted their expertise and judgement. Soon after, my friends and husband began saying “you’re back to normal!” But I didn’t feel completely myself until the last week of treatment. Patience and commitment are important! If you are in that pit of deep depression, let them give you a hand to get out! I had no side effects. Dr. Deirmenjian, Cory, and TMS are Godsends!
